Here comes the sun.....

I love Summer....the sun, the heat...
It's officially summer and what better way to bring it on by wearing the sun and being with those who bring the sunshine in my life.  Between my kids and their activities and my hubby's work schedule, we all rarely get to spend true family time together.  As the man worked from home on this day...we went out for a family outing in the sun.  Of course my husband was hit with the realization #1 now 11....is not down for playgrounds.

When I was younger....I was a city girl.  Now as a mom.....the vastness of the country appeals to my nurturing side.  I love the views in this little slice of country we have chosen to raise our children in.

Plain Jane

A few years ago......I was dubbed a "plain jane" by someone. Hmmmm. Not how I would have tagged myself...and quite frankly I was a little irritated by the assumption.  Granted I was in a phase of my revolving door...but was I really that drab.  I wasn't then wearing full faced makeup and my gear was cute but cozy.....I mean, shoot #1 and #2 were very young.  Nonetheless, I was perturbed!

Then a few years later a member of my in law family had the audacity to question how or why I was carrying a certain brand of handbag.  At this I was very pertubed!  Well at least she didn't call me "plain jane"....but what I buy and how much I spend is no one's business but my own!


Now I may not be overly glamorous or even edgy in my choice of clothing....like my fellow blogger Christina of Profresh Style.  I enjoy her spunk...but she's young...I'm older with kids. For me and where I live, nice clothes and makeup...sets me apart....so not "plain jane"
